Moderate lodging treks

Dear all trekkers from all over the world ! 
Welcome to the land of Himalayan paradise, who love the mountains, nature and Himalayan environment.

Moderate tea house (lodging) treks for those who like to spend more then  two weeks trekking at Himalayan region and cross high passes above 5,000m. Which you can trek with families, friends, groups or alone. 

For such a trek you don't need heavy trekking equipment and tents. During the trek you have to spend night at a local simple guest houses, lodges or hotels with basic rooms and meals, which is less expensive and easy then tented camping treks. For the teahouse (lodging) trek, you need just a porter to carry your few necessary personal trekking equipment as season and a trekking guide.

Trekking at such a beautiful natural environment helps to keep your happiness and stress less life. For this trek age between 18 to 70 years, anyone can do this trip if you are physically fit and healthy. 

Moderate tea house (lodging) trek, you can go at Mt. Everest Khumbu region, Pikey Dudkunda, Gosaikunda, Annapurna, Manaslu circuit, Makalu and Kanchanjunga region, where local hotel, lodge are available. During the high season, sometime the local lodge and trekking trail may busy, which up to the trekking region, season and weather.

Before start the moderate lodging treks, you need to know few important notices as following for your information and suggestion. Which is really important for who travel Nepal first time ?
 

Trekking season and weather:  Autumn (September- October & November) is one of the best times trekking at Himalayan region. The weather will be very clear for views of mountains and Himalaya. During this month temperature will very suitable for the trekking.

Spring (March-April & May) another best times trekking at Himalayan region. During this month temperature will very suitable for the trekking. Weather will be very clear; you can see spectacular views of mountains and high Himalaya. Especially spring season offers a colourful rhododendrons and different wild flowers full blossom above 3,000m.  

Winter (December-January & February) the weather will be very clear at Himalayan region for the views, but the temperature will be cold below zero degree in the morning and evening. Sometime heavy snow fall may block the high passes trekking routes.

Monsoon (June-July & August) not suitable for the trekking, heavily raining, landslide, high label of rivers may block the trekking trails. Not good visibility to see the Himalaya and mountains. 

Entry Visa for Nepal: All foreign other than Indian citizens, are required to obtain a tourist visa to enter in Nepal. We suggest you; online tourist visa apply from your home country or (neighbouring country) through Nepal embassy or consular.
If you don't have visa, you can apply arrival visa at Kathmandu international airport or any entry point from India or Tibet border Nepalese immigration. For arrival visa you need to fill up a visa application form with a passport size photo graph, minimum six months valid passport and visa fees. You have to wait on queue if there are many other tourists. After the visa process with in short period immigration will issue your tourist visa for entry in Nepal.

Flight and transportation: Flight to Nepal, there are several direct and connecting flight from all over the world to Kathmandu, Tribhuvan international airport (KTM) Nepal. The flight tickets you can book through your travel agent or booking direct online.  If you want enter Nepal from India or Tibet border, there are direct transport services.
 

 

Accommodation: There are several small hotels, tea houses and lodges with good facilities, comfortable accommodation with dining area for meals and relaxing, with warm fire at Mt. Everest Khumbu region, Manang and Jomsom region. 
We suggest you bring your own down sleeping bag with inner liner, sometimes the hotel or lodge’s blankets are not warm enough and not clean. During the trekking period, your trekking guide will check and decide a good accommodation for overnight as your choice. Some tea houses, lodges, provide wi-fi service and charging devices are available at the dining hall which you may need to pay an extra certain amount sometime. Teahouses in the Mt. Everest Khumbu region have better internet connections (especially in Namche Bazaar)

Daily Meals: Main Nepali dish Dal Bhat Tarkari (boiled rice, vegetable, lentil with hot pickle) you will get at every tea houses. Each restaurant, you will get vegetarian or non veg. dishes, different kinds of breakfast set, lunch and dinner as chapati, Tibetan breads, momos, Stew, pasta, noodles, pizza, several items of fresh vegetables, potatoes, meats, eggs, soups, hot and cold drinks, which you can check at menu. Your guide will always check before your order what is fresh and available.

Insurance and rescue:  Nobody knowable when and where any one sick or injured. If you are seriously injured or sick drive to nearest hospital it takes long time. The best and fast service by helicopter rescue service from Pokhara or Kathmandu. Which is really expensive, we suggest you, please issue a travel insurance policy from your home country or at Kathmandu.
 

Trekking Guide and porters: For this trek you need a trekking guide for your security and service. We provide an experience trekking guide, who been before for trek and who have an idea about good restaurant, hotels, lodges or guest houses for your accommodation.
The porter is an option which up to you, do you need or not? If you are really fit to carry your own personal trekking equipment it is not necessary to pay extra for the porter. If you are not able to carry your personal trekking equipment, you need porter. One porter can carry between 25 to 30 kg. luggage.

Trekking equipment check list: Trekking boots, light shoes / trainers, down or fibre pile jacket, fleece or sweater, shirts (x 2), long and short trekking trousers (and /or long skirt for women), waterproof poncho or umbrella, sun hat, woollen hat, gloves, socks (x 3), underwear.

Other essential items: Kitbag and padlock, small rucksack, down sleeping bag (4 seasons +) with inner liner, water bottle (1 litre capacity), head torch, personal first aid, sun and snow glasses/goggles, sun cream (factor 15+) & lip slave, towel & wash kit, whistle, passport, passport-size photographs, plastic bags, money belt.

Optional: Camera (with high-capacity memory cards and extra batteries), trekking poles / walking sticks, binoculars, notebook, pen etc.

Bank and cash: At the city there are several Banks, where you can change any foreign currency convert in local Nepali currency Rupees. Also, there are different ATM services, where you can use your Bank debit or credit cards for cash. At the mountain region all these service and facilities not available, you need to take cash local currency for your daily expenses.

We recommend this trek for those who are physically fit and healthy for trekking at Himalayan region, everyone man and woman age between 18 to 70 years old can join this trek without any hesitate.
